Entrance pendant

The Qashqai nomads houses are full of soul and emotion. The enthusiasm of Qashqai people for happy colors can be seen everywhere in their homes.

Qashqais use lots of colors in their home appliances. They use colored pendants (Gompols) in their entrance rooms or kitchens. These pendants are usually two meters long and are connected to a narrow linear Kilim. The two sides of this Kilim are connected to the entrance gate by woolen yarns. This gives a beautiful effect to the house and removes its soullessness. Pendants are made using both wool and synthetic fibers. Because synthetic fibers have chemical dyes, they have happier and more vivid colors than wools.
