FAQ

1- Does washing them at home cause the colors to mix?

The first point is that regardless of the colors, we recommend that you do not wash any hand-woven carpets yourself at home, because in the end, you will not be able to remove the pus from the inside of the carpet and the work will become cloudy or lowery. For washing, you can refer to carpet cleaners that have the Specialty to wash handwoven carpets. Please note that dry cleaners do not specialize in this field, and washing handwoven carpets requires its own special materials and expertise.

The colors used in the carpets are divided into two categories:

vegetable and Chemical. Vegetable dyes, as the name suggests, are dyed naturally using plants and are generally stable and do not cause any problems when washing. Chemical colors are produced with chemicals and in different ways, and they spread when washed. But if you get an authentic carpet cleaner, none of these carpets will spread color and they will wash them with special methods. So don’t worry about this.

2- Does the carpet slide on ceramic?

Yes ! Even heavy carpets move on ceramics! and what is the solution? You can use heavy objects such as table legs, sofas, etc to restrain rugs. The second way of using carpet adhesives is that they are double-sided and stick the carpet on the ceramic for you, then they are easily removed and have not any trace on the ceramic.

3- Is it true that handmade carpets have healing properties?

Yes! Wool handwovens have useful properties as well as therapeutic attributes, we mention a few of them:

– Unlike machine-made carpets made of acrylic materials, hand-woven woolen rugs cause electricity to escape from the body.

– Walking on hand-woven woolen shoes makes the skin soft and supple, and also improves the cracks on the soles of the feet to some extent.

– For people who have back pain, sleeping on Gabbeh is highly recommended.

– Wool handwovens are warm in winter and cool in summer.

4- Does wool smell? Is it rough?

See friends, like it or not, sheep’s wool smells a little when it gets wet, which is its natural smell. Also, wool is thicker and coarser than Merino wool  and other fibers. But when washing, If its lint is taken by the carpet cleaner , they will be a little softer. People who are allergic to this issue should use rugs woven with other fibers.

5- Do insects or willows eat carpets?

There is a positive answer regarding carpets and handwoven rugs with natural fibers such as wool and fluff. But this does not mean that we cannot take care of the carpets! Only if the rug is kept in a place for a long time (such as a sofa, chest, closet, etc.) or if it is in a place like a living room, where it has not commuting for seven or eight months, this problem arises. To solve this problem, just lift the carpet from its place once a month, give it a shake and spread it again. Just this! There is no need for naphthalene, tobacco, insect spray, etc.
