About Khorjin

Among the accessories of nomadic life, especially during the migration, we should mention Khorjin. Khorjin is one of the practical devices designed to carry goods. Khorjin consists of two symmetrical sides, the same shape, color and pattern. In the middle of  Khorjin there is a place to be placed on a horse or mule or donkey.

Khorjin, like Kilim and Jajim, are first woven into a flat carpet, then folded as much as necessary, and its sides are woven together with a strong thread, the color should match with the color of the context of the Khorjin so it looks like a bag.

Keys are provided for Khorjin, which open and close like the buttons of a coat or shirt, and end with a lock at the end. Khurjin is often the place where antiques and the most valuable items of a nomadic family are stored. Birth certificates, documents, jewelry and the like are carried in khorjin because it has a lock and is more reliable. Often, if a thief attacks a nomadic family, he first looks for the Khorjins, where there can be money, coins, or ashrafi. Today, Khorjin is used in bicycles, motorbikes, sofa handles and home decor.

Khorjins are divided into different categories in terms of texture:

 Carpet weaved Khorjin:

One of the types of khurjin is a product that is produced with two pieces of square carpet with a lining made of carpet. In other words, the work surface is knotted like a carpet and has fluff.

Needle knitted Khorjin:

One of the types of khorjin is completely woven in the style of a Kilim. In the next step, the pockets are decorated with needlework.
