About Gabbeh Kilim
Gebbeh-Kilim is one of the handwoven carpets of the Qashqai tribe. This type of carpet is one-sided and wool is used to weave it. In its texture, a combination of Gabbeh weaving and Kilim weaving techniques is used. The context has wovend like Kilim and its prominent motifs are woven in the form of Gabbe. After finishing the weaving process, the carpet motifs are cut and arranged with scissors. Qashqai women usually use Gabbeh-Kilim to depict their surroundings. For this reason, motifs such as trees, mountains, rivers, domestic animals, shepherds, etc. can be seen in these carpets.
